Aloha! Hawaii is such a dreamy travel destination for the tropical weather and beautiful scenery. There are an abundance of beautiful beaches on the Hawaiian Island Oahu. Every corner you turn you’ll find another incredible beach. I’m sharing with you the best beaches around Oahu, Hawaii.
Waimanalo has to be my personal favourite beach on Oahu. It’s one of the lesser known beaches on the island so you won’t encounter any crowds. Yet Waimanalo has crystal clear water and beautiful white sand. If you’re lucky you may even get the entire beach to yourself. It’s a long stretch of beach so even if there are people around it never feels crowed. Be sure to check out Waimanalo next time you’re cruising around Oahu.
I absolutely adore Lanikai, its so picturesque with small mountains coming out of the water in the distance. Lanikai is well known as the most beautiful beach on Oahu so there’s often a number of people at the beach. If you’re looking for a perfect place to view the sunrise, Lanikai Beach is it. The sun rises right in front of you over such a picturesque landscape. If you’re up for a bit of exercise, be sure to hike the Pillbox trail for incredible beach views. The hike is very popular at sunrise but is perfect any time of day.

Waikiki Beach is the most well know and touristy beach on Oahu, but for good reason. It is located in the centre of Honolulu with the majority of the hotels and restaurants within walking distance. Here you’ll find beautiful blue water with waves ideal for a beginner surfer or body boarding. A lot of people like to grab tubes and float on the water during the day. Whatever you come to the beach for, you’ll find it all at Waikiki Beach.
Makua Beach is a lesser known beach on the West Coast. You’ll find clear water and white sand surrounded by mountains. If you’re up for some snorkelling this is the place to do it due to the beautiful clear water. Since Makua Beach is on the west side of the island it’s ideal for sunset.
Located on the North Shore, Kailua Beach is less touristy but incredibly beautiful. This is a nice beach to chill out at since the waves are minimal and the crowds are almost non existent. If you’re up for some fun there’s a rock at the side of the beach that people enjoy cliff jumping from!
A beach with some Jurassic Park vibes. When you envision beaches in Hawaii Ka’a’awa is the quintessential beach. Ka’a’awa Beach is yet another beautiful beach, but this one you’ll view those mountains in the distance reminiscent of Jurassic Park. Be sure to put this beach into your maps because it’s an easy one to drive past. It’s hard to spot from the road and for this reason there are very minimal people at this beach.
Magic Island is a man-made Palm tree lined beach perfect for sunset. This beach is located near Waikiki allowing for easy access to those staying in Honolulu. While it is a beautiful beach ideal for sunset, it does come with crowds due to it being located in the main tourist area of Oahu.
Sunset beach is located on the North Shore. As the name indicates, this is the ideal beach to watch the sunset. It’s a beautiful beach to hang out at during the day with minimal crowds. The beach also has some very photo worthy crooked palm trees to set the mood.
