SAILING THE WHITSUNDAYS AUSTRALIA

Whitehaven Beach Whitsundays Australia

Any trip through Australia just would not be complete without a trip to the Whitsundays.

The Whitsundays is a group of 74 islands located on the Great Barrier Reef. One of these islands holds Australia’s #1 beach – Whitehaven. Seriously, words cannot even explain how beautiful Whitehaven Beach truly is.

Experiencing the Whitsundays by boat is a magical experience and absolutely deserves to be at the top of any travel bucket list!

When planning a sailing trip through the Whitsundays there are many different options to choose from. The main differences between the sailing trips is duration & type of boat. Tours will generally range from 1 day to 3 nights. I personally find the 2 night tours to be the best as it gives you sufficient time to see everything and not feel rushed.

Tours will depart from Airlie Beach, located on the east coast of Australia. A typical sailing tour will generally consist of snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, a hike up to Hill Inlet to get a breathtaking view of Whitehaven Beach, and some time spent on the most beautiful beach in Australia. Most tours will also provide food, and if you’re on an overnight tour you will likely be sleeping on the boat.

The magical thing about looking over Whitehaven Beach is as the tides are always coming in and out, the view will never be the same as the day before, or even the hour before. The swirling patterns in the sand are always changing. The beauty you behold is your own, and each beautifully unique.
